Years and years ago, after one sunrise service too many, I wrote a parody of the way that actual sunrise services often turn out.
PASTOR: He has risen.
CONGREGATION (mumbling): (zzz) He has risen indeed. (zzz)
PASTOR: He has risen!
CONGREGATION (mumbling): (zzz) He has risen indeed. (zzz)
I've been sensitive to that tendency ever since, and tried to yell on Sunday. Well, at least I was speaking loudly. I think.
